We hear ROI all the time in business, and the question that always revolves around this topic is, “How do you measure it?” If you ask 50 different marketing agencies, you will probably get 50 different answers.

Studies show that 89%+ consumers will do their own research about a company online before they will attempt to connect with them either by phone, email, contact form, or whatever. We put our website on our business cards, promotional products, radio, billboards, newspapers, magazines, t-shirts, vehicles, or any other place we can think of. The reason we do this is because we want consumers to visit our website and learn more about our products and services. You post content on social media so that followers will link to your site to continue reading a blog, learn more about a topic, or to explore your business.

Analytics is the most valuable measuring tool any business can use to measure their marketing efforts, yet so many businesses don’t use it. Analytics can give you all the data you need like, the type of devices that are accessing your site (mobile or laptop), date, time of day, browser type, locations, time spent on your site, the list goes on.

Analytics is the best tool to measure your social media effort as it can tell you what platform followers are coming to your site from, whether it be Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube. If you not getting traffic to your site from your social media sites, your messages are not working.

With analytics, you know if you not getting traffic to your site and if you need to go back and look at your message and marketing campaign. If traffic is up, your marketing efforts and campaign to increase traffic to your site is working.
